Starting a Youtube channel is always a challenge. Unless your videos are nothing but click-bait titles, constant jump cuts and worn out memes (I wish there was a better word for that) the battle to reach a decent sized audience is a tricky one. But there’s one thing that we as the opposition have, and that’s loyalty.
Although our audience (in relation to The Round Table) is very small, they are loyal, they come back for every episode, and they watch through the majority of the show (a lot of people don’t stick around for the after credit bloopers, which is a shame) and for that I’m grateful.
I recently found out about a site called “VidMe”, which makes itself out to be a kind of “creators community”, a Youtube without the spam posting and stolen videos, and I really like the look of it.
Weirdly, you can’t get verified until fifty people are following you. But if the websites community is as advertised, hopefully that won’t take too long (hopefully, fingers crossed)
What I also really like, is that you don’t even have to upload again if you’re already an existing Youtube user; you can just type in a Youtube URL and VidMe will go and catch all the information by itself. Neato.
There’s nothing online at this present time (06:00 GMT 16th May) but in a couple hours we should be seeing our first couple of uploads go live, so I’d really appreciate it if you went and subscribed to us over there. Spread the love.
